Where I’m At

I usually reserve writing updates for the monthly Gaslight Gazette newsletter, but as we’re already into the eighth month of the year I thought it would be nice to summarise everything here.
At the beginning of 2025 I set myself three personal goals: 1) Read more, 2) Get out more and 3) Write more. I’ve certainly achieved the first goal as I’ve almost read 12 books at the point of writing. I’ve also gotten out more as I’ve already attended four events and have another two lined up later in the year. I’ve also written more with two Casebook short stories complete and ideas for more and the eight Bow Street Society mystery novel well under way. In this month’s blog, I’m going to revisit my other existing projects and some upcoming ones, too.
The Case of the Curious Client Audiobook
Progress continues to be made with this. For those who are unaware, my plan for the audio book is to have a narrator and three voice actors performing the characters’ dialogue. The narration has been recorded and we’re making good progress on the dialogue. I recently shared a rough sample with those involved in the project that sounded great. I can’t announce when the audio book will be released until all the recording is done, but the final book promises to be a great listening experience for both newcomers to the series and existing fans.
“In Conversation with…” Monthly Podcast
I was unwell in June, and this resulted in my having to reschedule a lot of things, which is why there wasn’t an episode at the end of June. July’s episode, in which I chat to actor, voice actor and streamer Evan Sabba, was released on 28th July and is available to watch on the Bow Street Society YouTube channel. Last weekend I recorded August’s episode, and this will be released on 28th August. I also have my guest for September’s episode already lined up. There will be a final episode at the end of October and then that will be it for season one. I intend to have eight episodes per season and will look to release episode one of season two in 2026.
The Return of the Bow Street Society Fan Group
I previously had a Facebook group dedicated to the Bow Street Society books where fans could discuss the plots and characters etc. For various reasons I closed that group, but now I want to bring it back and I need your help. I’ve pinned a post to the official Bow Street Society Facebook page asking for help to name the group. If you have any ideas, or like any already suggested, I’d really appreciate it if you could comment on the post.
My main aim of the group is to create an environment where fans can share their love of the books by engaging with each other and me on a daily basis. I also plan to post a weekly audio update on what I’ve been doing and sharing it exclusively within the group. In addition to this, I plan to have a live question and answer session once a month exclusively for members of the group, and give members first look at new YouTube videos ahead of everyone else.
If you have any other ideas of things I can bring to the group, please comment on the post on the Bow Street Society Facebook page, send me a private message through Facebook messenger, or email me at info@bowstreetsociety.com.
Ambient Readings for Pugilist’s Ploy & Fatal Flaw
These have been recorded. I intend to edit and release them in the months when “In Conversation with…” isn’t active, e.g., November and December. In the meantime, you can listen to ambient readings of the other novels and some of the Casebook short stories on the Bow Street Society YouTube channel.
That’s all the updates I have for you at the moment. Thank you for your continued support and I’ll see you again next month!
