BOW STREET SOCIETY NARRATIVE ORDER, December 2025

At the point of writing this, there are seven books in the main Bow Street Society Mystery novel series and six volumes of the Bow Street Society Casebook. A question I often get asked by readers is: what order should I read the short stories and novels in? I usually recommend reading the novels in publication order and the short stories in any order. Yet, what if you want to read the short stories and novels in the order they occur within the Bow Street Society universe? In this month’s blog I share the official timeline of the chronological order of the events within the novels and short stories.

N.B. When a date / month hasn’t been specified in a novel / short story, that novel / short story has been given an approximate position on the timeline based upon in-narrative references to the season, weather conditions, and temperature, etc.
