A new year brings a new beginning and new goals. My goals in 2025 were to: Read More, Write More, and Get Out There More. I’m satisfied I achieved these, and, so, I want to set some new goals for 2026. I will not be too hard on myself if I don’t achieve them as, at the very least, they’ll give the year some structure.
Bow Street Society Mystery 8
I’ve been working on this since approximately May 2025, and there’s still some way to go before it’s ready to be sent to my beta readers. As with all of my books, though, I won’t publish the book until it’s the best it can be. I’ve already pencilled in some dates with my editor for this book, and I’m confident I’ll be publishing it this year.
The Case of the Curious Client Audio Book
We made some tremendous progress on this in the last few months of 2025. There’s still some recording to be done but, provided we can do that, I’m confident I’ll be releasing the audio book this year as well.
Bow Street Society Casebook Volume 8
The release of volume 7 was very late in 2025 (the eBook was published on Christmas Day). I should receive the proof of the paperback in the coming weeks, so this should be released by the end of January. My intention is to complete volume 8 between writing Bow Street Society Mystery 8 and 9, so it’s ready in good time to be released in December 2026.
Social Media & Website
In 2025, my focus was very much on attending as many in-person events as I could. 2026 will see this focus shift to building my following on the various social media platforms, building membership and engagement of the Bow Street Appreciation Society Facebook Group, optimising the SEO of my website, exploring other revenue streams, e.g. commission via advertisements on the website, and creating more content for my social media and YouTube platforms. As part of this, I’ll also explore joining TikTok and (finally) start streaming on Twitch.
Reading Challenge
In 2025, I set my goal at 25 books but only managed to read 20. In 2026, my goal is to read 30 books (but allow myself 25). This would then allow me to create a Top 10 Reads of 2026, instead of the Top 5 I did in 2025.
The Case of the Curious Client in the Top 20 of the BooksOffice.com Next Killer Crime TV Drama
I’m not in a position to give a detailed update regarding this project. What I can say, though, is that I’ll not be progressing any further in it.
Thank you for your support and encouragement in 2025. I’m excited about 2026 and hope we can achieve some amazing things together. If you’d like to be kept updated about what’s going on with me and my writing, subscribe to the Gaslight Gazette monthly newsletter, follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and X, follow me on Goodreads, and join the Bow Street Appreciation Society Facebook Group.
